Heywood lives in Portage Michigan, and takes a month for 20 years and has and rode with officers in the field in the Upper Peninsula, and all over the state.
Taxi Dancer (1985)
The Berkut (1987)
The Domino Conspiracy (1992)
The Snowfly (2000)
(I have not read any of the 4 above. Although I heard two Characters from The woods cop mysteries make a appearance in The Snowfly). I have snowfly ordered.
I have read the first 8 of the Woods Cops mysteries in order. I wish my dad was alive as he wood appreciate these books about The conservation officer with the Upper Peninsula being a backdrop for the books, and other states like Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana. but mostly all set in the UP, and Michigan. I am not a huge hunter like my father was i liked to fish but not like how hard core the characters in these books are. if you like the outdoors and mysteries. Good characters, and conservation i think you will like these. I will probably
keep reading all his stuff.
Publication Order of Woods Cop Mysteries Books.
Ice Hunter (2001)
Blue Wolf in Green Fire (2002)
Chasing a Blond Moon (2003)
Running Dark (2005)
Strike Dog (2007)
Death Roe (2008)
Shadow of the Wolf Tree (2010)
Force of Blood (2011)
Killing a Cold One (2013)
Buckular Dystrophy (2016)

More woods cop short stories
Hard Ground (2013).
Harder Ground (2015).

Mountains of the Misbegotten (2014)
I have read both of these and they are set in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the UP around
1913, and 1914 Lute Bapcat and the Russian are great characters.
