Get StartedIf this means no Cassius Vaughn, I am good with it.
Should fight for the nickel job. Frontrunner right now....good pickup
Idk about that. If Lawson is healthy, he's going to win the job, imo.

It would be nice to see a battle for that spot.
I also expect Lawson to win that spot. 1 game or not, I thought he looked good when he was in there.
You can never have enough CB...
Especially with a 34 year old starting opposite of Slay. I'm pulling for a corner in the the 1st or 2nd
i think bill is the broyles of the defense.....i think this signing is the nail in his coffin and hes on the outside looking in. Wilson to dime imo. Lawson should seal up nickel if hes healthy.
Mathis is a good CB and was the top number 2 CB in the league last year. He has just as much of an injury risk than any other CB and is coming off a healthy year. Lions have two very good starting CBs and three solid guys for the nickel now. Plus a draft still to come.
We were lucky that Mathis stayed healthy last year, it'd playing with fire to expect that to happen again. We need to get his replacement this year. Mathis going down in week 10 or later with no valid replacement would be pretty maddening. I expect a cb taken no later than the 2nd round.
