Lions cut 4.

Bell and Young get brought up..Bell we didn't draft (that's the point). To be honest, what has Young done? He was part of 11 tackles all of last year. In 11 games. He's almost non existence.

He was the talk of the town not too long ago. He was supposed to take over for Avril, remember? lol

Talk of the town and actually being the town is why we're in this situation of "Well, maybe this is the year." Just another in a long line of crap..

Young had a very good 2011 and needs to bounce back to that. I'm not worried about the DEs with Ansah, Young, Jones, and Idonije. That group is more than good enough especially compared to last year. And not just pass rush, run defense too.

Bell was a diamond in the rough found by Mayhew. To not credit Mayhew for finding him no matter how he was obtained is absurd I don't care if Mayhew finds them in free agency (Tulloch, Quin, Bush, Jones), trades for them (Houston, Sims, Schefler) or drafts them early or late. Just as long as he finds talent and Mayhew has for the most part.

Since Mayhew is good at 1st round drafting, trades and free agency, he gets a big pass for Rounds 3-7. Round 2 the talent is there but we have some damn bad luck with injuries. Round 2 you can take injury risks, we'll see if Delmas/Broyles/LeShoure/Slay can salvage Round 2 Mayhew this season.

Plus I think it is way too early to give up on Rounds 3-7 picks from 2012 or 2013 unless they are cut and gone forever. Even Fox/Young deserve one more big chance.

Actually the NO Saints found Bell they were just too stacked to keep him (or Chris Ivory). Bell racked up some great carries at the NFL level before we ever picked him up.

Young was a 7th rd pick. He's on the bubble of even making this team....

And the Saints are retards for keeping Ivory over Bell, right? Of course not i bet. Mayhew was just lucky getting Bell? Oh ya!! ;)

I agree and its not a big loss, a 7th round pick. That was my point. I was agreeing with you in a round about sort of way. LKP thinks he was a good draft pick..so I added my input.

Bell doesn't have any carries listed under him with the Saints. Maybe pre-season but it's pre-season.

He is a good draft pick based on 2011 and what he can do in 2013.

LKP wasnt the only one. There were a few posters on here who thought he was the heir apparentt after Avril rolled. I thought it was absurd...

round 2 has been mayhews worst round. best, titus, broyles, leshoure, delmas......a whole lot of nothing. shoulda woulda coulda....but still nothing. Slay is mayhews only chance at salvation as far as round 2 picks go. Broyles would need 100 catches in this offense for me to think any differently about where we selected him.

Delmas, Broyles and Slay can salvage that easily in 2013. And Best helped for 2011 playoffs. That is not nothing.

But I'll take good 1st round drafts, good free agency and good trading from Mayhew. He's still a good GM no matter what you think about Rounds 2-7.
