Ziggy Ansah to IR; Detroit Lions should have many DE options in offseason.

To fill the two roster openings, the Lions promoted a pair of players off the practice squad, tight end Jerome Cunningham and offensive lineman Leo Koloamatangi.

Ezekiel Ansah's disappointing season ends with IR move.

What's Ansah even worth at this point. Can't stay healthy, and he's only productive against the worst tackles in the league. I don't think anybody is going to overpay for him honestly.

Some team will overpay. He won't get 17+MILLY but he'll definitely get overpaid. I can't wait til he's gone...

Depending on the market I’m guessing he’ll be slightly overpaid for a one year contract, hopefully the Lions aren’t the ones to do it.

I was thinking the same thing. A one yr prove it deal. Indy or Buffalo maybe

What is your favorite Ezekiel Ansah memory?
Let?s take a moment to remember the good with Ansah.

I remember the MNF game @ NYG pretty vividly. We watched from the hotel room while we vacationed in Myrtle Beach. He had a few sacks, several tackles, and the win put us at 2-0. Things were really looking up. A fucking ROAD win on MNF in a game that mattered.

Went on to finish a stellar 7-9, winning 3 of our last 4 meaningless games to drop out of top 10 draft position. Very similar to how this season is turning out.

Personally I am happy to see him moved to IR. Last thing I wanted to see happen was him have a couple strong games at the end of the year and we resign him.

Me too. Him getting 12 sacks last year was blashemy. Guy was an absolute ghost for pretty much 10 games, and feasted against 3 really lousy LT's

I think we'd all be fine with bringing back Ansah so long as we were paying him for the quarter of a season of quality play he actually produces, rather than superstar money. Our new guy is making ~18, right? So I'd give Ansah 4.5 for a year.
