The Lions have let go of Matt Harriss, the team's Vice President of Football Administration. The move was first reported by the Detroit News. Harriss did a lot of the salary cap work for the club since being hired from the New York Giants in 2016 -- one of general manager Bob Quinn's first moves after taking over the football operations of the club.

A day after Matt Harriss was let go, the Lions hired Mike Disner as the team's VP of football administration. He comes from Arizona, where he held a similar role from 2013 to 2018. Not surprisingly, he has a Patriots connection — as a scouting assistant in 2007 and intern in 2005 and 2006. He's a Michigan native and played baseball at Williams College.

Lions had a bad FA season last year not getting who they wanted. This move makes sense. Disner has Patriot ties too

It?s the 25th anniversary of the NFL?s salary cap, when it started at $34.6 million in 1994 and has grown to $188.2 million today.

I know I'm not concerned yet. I think what they have done, on the surface, seems very smart to me.

30 mil to spend still...and im impatient by nature. Spend it Quin! Still way too many holes on this team.
