There has been zero excuse for the below expectation performance of the team. Fire Caldwell or Lombardi, or better still...both. Promote from within to get through this year, probably Austin to HC just to see what he can do since so many teams were interested in him. As for new OC, pick one of the position guys to run that. When Lions lose tonight, owners need to step up and say enough is enough. Mayhew should be tossed as well.

Oh, and just call Jim Harbaugh to ask him to start putting out feelers. Can't contact coach directly otherwise risk getting in trouble, but no reason they cannot ask Jim if he thinks John might be interested and whatnot...just to start a dialogue.

Maybe ask Baltimore if they will trade for John and what they would want in return. Stafford? CJ? Tate? What would they demand??? Or just wait till end of season to pursue him.

It seems to be mentioned a lot but I'd hate if Austin was head coach. He has barely over a year as a DC. He won't turn this team around.

Also, I think if they decide to get a new HC - Mayhew needs to be gone. And if that happens, 100% it won't, but if it does, new guys wipes them all.

And I thought this was going to be a thread about needing to pay a DT a boatload of money and then throwing him in a scheme that doesn't suit his skill set.

I think he has two more season on his new deal. We'd be waiting a lot longer than just the offseason.
