#Lions waive LaAdrian Waddle, claim center Gabe Ikard. Team still likely to add a TE before Monday's game with New Orleans.

Thank you. He wasn't getting any better. Makes it easier now to draft a LT and put Reiff at RT. That has to happen.

in fairness, he looked good enough last year that cutting him last year would not have been a popular move at that time.

sux he didn't improve

That's fair. Cutting him outright would've been off, he wasn't terrible in the action he saw. Just wasn't worthy of a full time position at LT either.

I thought he was going to be solid... This game can be cruel.

i'm surprised by this cut thought he might still be able to improve, he wasn't that bad last year hope they didn't give up on him too soon.

Some of these O-line guys we've had in recent years make me miss Jeff Backus. That's sad.

Dollars to donuts Bellichick has him whipped into a pro-bowl tackle by the end of next season...

They are hurting on the online there. I sure wouldn't be surprised if he made starts for them.

Eh. Patriots fail often in player evaluation. Even their drafts kind of suck. They just have great game plans and great QB. Covers up a lot.

I say they gave up on Waddle too soon, I thought they should have planned to try moving RR back to RT, draft a LT then move Waddle to the inside would have worked out.

Waddle didn't do anything other than a few games at the start of his career. But honestly, he looked good because the previous guy didn't. And he gets injured every year. Sometimes you have to move on.

No reason to cut him unless he did something dumb. I'm assuming he did something dumb. Ola has been hurt. We could use depth at the position.

Despite Waddle's horrid play this year, seeing him waived is really disappointing. I remember when Fauria and Waddle were going to be core members of a good team, I thought finally Detroit manages to win some of those undrafted FA lottery tickets. Now, it turns out those guys are who we thought they were, and can't hack it in the league.
