LOL, what? George W. Bush offered to officiate same-sex wedding?

first reported here:
Some mornings, Bush drops into H.B. Provisions, a cozy general store owned by Bonnie Clement and her wife, Helen Thorgalsen (George H.W. Bush made international headlines when he attended their wedding in 2013; George W. Bush offered to perform the ceremony but had a scheduling conflict).
now, dialing it back "through a spokesperson":
Mr. Bush's spokesman Freddy Ford told CBS News that while the former president is indeed friends with Bonnie Clement and Helen Thorgalsen, he doesn't recall making an offer to officiate their wedding.
How very Reaganesque.

Wish that I wouldn't have clicked on MC's first link, the detail of the Bush clan's blue-blooded aristocratic silver-spoonfed excess made my stomach turn.

Who the hell calls a 600K mansion a freaking cottage?!?

Is it b/c it remains vacant for most of the year?

What are you talking about Turok?

our system of barely-restrained capitalism, and corporate oligarchy rewards those who work hard.

the Bush family has lots of money, property, and nice things, far more than you or I. Ergo, they all work very hard and deserve everything they have.

What would you suggest? Taxing them at a higher rate and giving the excess to a bunch of greedy takers? The leeches of society? The Bushes and those like them would simply flee the country, taking their wealth with them to... say... the Cayman Islands, which would become the new greatest country on Earth, and we'd all be sitting here, starving to death in poverty without their greatness to lead us.

The Shrubs already are preparing for that possibility, since they purchased land in Paraguay.

"The property sits on top of the Guarani Aquifer. Guarani is one of the world?s largest aquifer systems. It supplies water to four countries. Guarani is the size of Texas and California combined. It is said that this vast underground reservoir could supply fresh drinking water to the world for 200 years."
