That's a nice career. Good average, 200+ HR 400+ DLB 1000+ RBI and almost 2400 hits. Especially a 2B.
 
I have thought for a number of years, probably some of you too, that middle of the country teams players of HOF quality have to do something significance to get the vote attention that is given to the east and west coast teams.
Both Whitaker and Trammell imo, needed one more year that would have given them a 'round' number of 2500 plus hits.

someone might think, "well barry larkin didn't either".
That is true, but larkin got an MVP while Tramm was robbed of it.

It is looking more and more that Trammell and Whitaker (if there are years he is brought to the vote again) will have to count on a Veteran's Committee ballot of 75%.
