I never listened to this guy... I never thought he was funny. I found out more recently he was basically Glenn Beck Lite.

best part is this:
"And then, I was spending $45,000 a year for the (private) British School of Chicago. It was killing me."
tuition there is about $25,000/year/student. guy complains about not being able to send his kids to public school, but shells out that kinda dough for one of the most exclusive private schools in the entire country. either he's a complete fucking idiot, or a hypocrite.

Not seeing the connection betw. his reluctance for PS's in Chicago and the hypocrisy of sending his kids to private school. It's not the hypocrisy of, say, a public-elected official who lauds public schools and sends his kids to exclusive private schools with armed guards.

I guess it's more how out-of-touch this guy is, portraying himself as a regular Chicago Joe and bitching about the conditions of the city (he has to see homeless people on the PUBLIC sidewalks near his home... the horror) and yet he's moving to an exclusive suburb to get away from it.

and the specific point I was making there is that if you're sending your kids to the British School, which is $25,000 per year, per student, assuming they even admit you (which probably requires thousands more in "donations") you probably wouldn't be sending your kids to public school regardless of how good they are. there are a lot more affordable private schools in the city if it was his only concern.

Where are you moving to?

I knew someone would say that. I just knew it.

I actually did move earlier this year, but I'm still in Chicago.

And I would never say the things this clown said.

It was definitely low hanging fruit, but somebody had to pluck it.

Man, that's quite a few major life changes for you in the last couple years, keep your head on straight.

yeah. actually I did all of them this year. 2013 was a landmark for me.

the pressures of accomplishing all I've done in one year would've crushed a lesser man like an eggshell. a goddamn eggshell. most of you would look like this right now if you were me:

Right. The rest of us are all so carefree here. No concerns at all. No aspirations; no achievements that can compare. So sorry we can't relate to your unique circumstances.

I'm surprised you don't populate a different board where the elite post about their accelerated lives and times.

That's nothing. There was a guy on a board who:

Played in the USFL
Could bench 200 lbs. 20 X ... (like that's such a superhuman feat)
Went to Princeton Law School
Owned a private jet
Ran marathons at a 5:15 pace in Chuck Taylors. I kid you not. Chuck. Taylors.

11 warriors?

or the RCMB?

Oh yeah, who was that byco...? The Chuck Taylors...

Me, we've had a kickass 2013 -- fucking crushing it.

(but we already had a kid and that's a life change you can't describe, but only experience)

I said "a guy on a board" to keep it vague. No guy you know. No board you ever posted on.

Check out this dude:

Played in the NFL and he sings opera.

This dude don't post on this board, I'd bet.

he used to. Don't you remember "OperaSinginPupu'a10773"?

he was big on the Lions board and NFL in general. I don't really post on the pro boards as much

So this guy is getting a bad rap for calling Chicago unliverable or he's spending 35k to go to school?

I did find this funny:

I guess I could have had (my daughters) go to public schools, but I don’t want them to be stupid. Lol.

He posted maybe 20 times.

He used to get into football arguments with tsmith; something about a bet.

When he got into Julliard he was gone.

unliverable. heh.

i guess the way a lot chicagoans drink, the city is pretty unliverable.

but I explained my reasoning above (post #3).

his whole schtick as a radio funny man is based on relating to his listeners, and the guy is sending his kids to a school that costs more than the avg. Chicagoan brings home in a year and moving to the suburbs to get away from the undesirables who use the public sidewalks outside his condo.

he's complaining about the public schools not being good enough for his kids, and instead sending them to the most expensive and exclusive joint in the town.

That's like bitching about the conditions on the bus and saying you were forced to buy a Maybach, and hire a driver & concierge service in order to get the sort of transportation you need.
