Michigan gets a split in the weekend series at ND... Up next weekend we have two home games verses Miami-Ohio who is 10-8-2 in the CCHA and 14-10-2 overall..

Yes we scored the first two in the first period and had to hang on at some points in the game.. Still they played much better then the night before and with the CCHA so tight the 3 points were important..

Michigan improves to 15-9-4 and 9-7-4 in the CCHA... i will wait till Sunday after the standings are updated to post it but it is going to be a battle to get one of those five spots for a first weekend Bye . Going into today 5 points separated the top eight teams.. Unfortunately We are at 20 games and some teams have games in hand on us.. Like ND...

Dang, I just wish they hadn't gotten off to such a slow start. THey just need to hit their stride going into the end of the season really.

They got off to a great start at 7-2-1... But then in the middle they went 0-6-1 or thereabouts.. Much, much better the last ten games..

And much better since Merrill came back from suspension.

I believe they take 16 teams in the NCAA hockey tourney. The way we are playing now I really believe we can play with anyone. It's going to come down to how we play in the CCHA tourney.

Here is the pairwise power rankings.. I am pretty sure if Michigan finds a way to get to 20 wins which is doable they will get a bid.. This is updated after today's win already and we a a solid # 6... With no real dominate teams we are in decent shape for another NCAA bid...

Here are the CCHA standings which have been updated...One game left in Alaska I think tonight for the league.. We may have to play on opening weekend of the CCHA tourney we don't get it in gear..Notice some teams have games in hand.. Did it a few years ago and then went in to MSU and won two game there..

We still have two at home with Miami-Ohio, one at MSU,and One with MSU at the Joe... Then we have 2 with NMU at home then the last 2 are on the road at Bowling Green.

BG is the last place team... NMU has a losing conference record but is over .500 overall. Have to win three of four or all four un these games..

The two games were almost mirror images of one another, without the gratuitous empty netter for M last night. Still, solid split and noter dame is definitely good ....but not a team to be afraid of at all.
