My "Alma Mater" (but not really, since the two Royal Oak High Schools merged and changed its name) was drubbed 42-0 by Avondale (#8 in D3). I looked at the RO schedule and I don't "recognize" the opposition, except for Berkley and Ferndale, the only two holdovers from the 1970s schedule.

It was RO's Homecoming, spoiled.

Yeah, a lot of familiar powerhouse names are not in the rankings this year (and Bro Rice is now 0-6, maybe for the 1st time ever)

Avondale is where I would have gone to school, which is one reason my parents sent me to Catholic school. It's a weird district, in the corner of Bloomfield Hills, Auburn Hills, Pontiac, and Rochester Hills... a mix of nice suburbs, shitty suburbs, and trailer parks. I don't think my parents really thought it through when they moved there in '85. One neighborhood south, and I wouldve gone to Lahser.

Lahser no longer exists either, merged with Andover at some point; no idea what it's called now.

I guess we can't afford to maintain as many schools as we used to for some reason. BUUUT At least the really rich are a lot richer these days than they were when you were in HS, and hell even than when I was in HS. Consider it a fair trade, right?

The young Byron center homecoming was spoiled by Lowell 38-28. Neither team punted and Lowell stole a possession on a pooch kick right before half. Scored and scored again to start the 3rd went up 28-14. BC just put a lot into beating FHC on the road. They start mostly 11th graders at the skilled positions.

Ok white
BC 5-1 (3-1)
Fhc 5-1 (3-1)
Egr 5-1 (3-1)
Lowell 5-1 (3-1)
Bc beat fhc. Fhc beat egr, egr beat Lowell. Still games to be played.
