I would speculate that if what happened in Ferguson were to have happened in the suburb of any major metropolitan area, events such as the one reported on in the Deadspin report would be happening anywhere else.

Maybe. There aren't many pro sports teams located in teh Deep South. But I should've specified "among baseball teams." Hockey fanbases are like 99.9% white and mostly from the 'burbs. Those yokels would be just as bad.

Well, there are rednecks everywhere. Lots of rednecks in the Detroit Metropolitan area. Lots of rednecks around Chicago. Rednecks are everywhere.
