MSU @ Illinois

Someone has to be fired...you cannot go from a final four team to losing to Illinois. I don't care if half your team is injured...there is just no excuse.

I just can't believe how awful our LB's have been. That was supposed to be our biggest strength.

warner and bollman will keep their jobs - in another great coaching move, they'll probably blame it all on injuries and fire Mannie for poor strength and conditioning, or something like that.

LBs get too much credit for being good when you have a solid D-line. They get all the glory making the second/clean up hits. Personally, I think that's what happened at least with Bullough and Frey last year. Davis is or at least at one time was probably legit and I think Reschke is our next best, leaps and bounds better than the other two. But as a unit, they looked a lot better because of the line play - now that the line play sucks, they're getting exposed. It doesn't help that Davis has been playing catch up with conditioning and Reshke is hurt but it's safe to say Bullough and Frey simply blow.

Will we even have 60,000 in attendance on Saturday for that shitshow game?

I don't blame them. I won 10 free tickets and am selling them on stubhub for cheap. I'm not wasting my time going.

People will show up for the OSU game though. Last home game. I don't care what happens the rest of the season, but it would be cool if Terry started the last game against Rape U, I mean PSU, and we beat them. He's from Pennsylvania (I think) and we could keep them from getting to a New Years bowl. And on top of that, fuck PSU

Quite possibly another moral victory post but we are barely losing all these games, its like a poor mans 1st and 2nd Dantonio season without roids. Glad I didnt see this one, Illinois?? Really???? Im starting to think Narduzzi was a bigger loss than we all expected. Im hot and cold on Michamp posts but he raised a good point, we have been less talented and played better foots in the past. What gives??

the team just looks defeated. They look like they've lost the game before they step foot on that field.

EDIT: I'm also going to guess that there are some issues in the locker room with this team.

Also Copeland out for the year with a broken foot. I don't think he has played the last two games with a hip injury. His play really dipped this year, he was so good last year. His biggest weakness this year was tackling, Gotta think the neck injury is still on his mind. I really hope he comes back strong next year, he has next level potential for sure.

Implosion is the most convenient term here. So many factors, so much confusion. Its a head scratcher to say the least. I assumed Il and rutgers were still easily winnable but thats not case. Went from a bump in the road to speeds bumps every 5 feet with flat tires....or something.

coaching has to come into question here - the recruiting class, the injuries, suspensions/transfers account for probably 4 losses, 5 max on the season, the rest are on the staff. I've had plenty of arguments here for saying I think Dantonio is a good but not great coach based on the fact that the B1G was depressed when we were most successful. I'm not saying this one year proves I'm right, but great coaches don't go 2-10 or 3-9 or 4-8 in any conference. That just doesn't happen. With this schedule and the adversity we've faced I'd say 8-4 while being competitive in 3 of the losses should be a reasonable expectation, something a great coach should be expected to do. Anything less than 7-5 would be unacceptable and what we're looking at is just a disgrace.

Perhaps time to hire some coaches from outside the current coaching structure? Haven't most/all of Dantonio's coaches been promoted from within?
