MSU Vs OSU

Glad we got the win, but you almost wish we would have lost this one, this team needs a wake up call, hope almost blowing it was good enough.

We really missed Trice today, needed another ball handler badly.

No excuses what so ever for tonight. With that said I really hope this team is healthy come march. I don't remember the last time we played with a full roster. When denzel fouled out and Appling playing hurt we didn't have anyone who could dribble the ball. Missed trice big time.

Glad we got the win but the bewildered look and 100% intensity at minute to NO intensity with 7:00 left isnt going to cut it. Why dont we ever press?? People press the hell out of us but we let them have it easy. We need to start pressing also from time to time. My neighbors had to of heard me a block away with each passing score by OSU towards the end.

That was one of the ugliest stretches of MSU hoops that I have ever seen, it was so unbelievably painful watching it in person at the Bres, I know we were banged up and in foul trouble but I thought we totally got outcoached, some of the worst offensive sets I have seen us run in my entire life. It barely even feels like a win to be honest.

I think ohio's going to lose a couple more, but they'll probably still finish in the AP Top 10... you guys are acting like a bunch of drama queens whining about not coasting to an easy win. that was probably never going to happen no matter how well you played.

now if Penn St or Nebraska takes you to OT in EL, that's a different matter.

I agree, nobody likes losing a lead up 17 with 8 minutes but in the end, we beat a top 5 team. we also had a few guys playing hurt and i think we would have beaten the press easily if we had a backup PG and Appling didn't play 38 minutes in regulation.

i think that was a perfect storm and isolated incident

I don't think it'll become a habit but the mental errors during that comeback were alarming. The team deciding to milk clock with 7 minutes left (whether that was the players had stopped playing with urgency or a coaching directive I don't know), Valentine trying to go behind his back and dribbling off his leg, Dawson falling asleep on defense, numerous offensive rebound putbacks by OSU, fouling guys shooting 3 pointers. It's not like OSU got unconscious from 3 to get back into it.

Still, I'll give credit to Appling and Payne for playing through pain and stepping up pin OT to hit big shots, and a little credit to OSU too. They don't look pretty but they're gritty and smart and know what they are. And the ND game should have been proof that they'll play to the final whistle.

I wish we had a walton or green to get on Valentine and Dawson so Izzo wouldn't have to spend time during timeouts to do that kind of thing
