MSU @ Wisconsin

The one positive takeaway from my perspective - ex the last play, Harris looked pretty good tonight. Seemed to have his body under control and made a bunch of big plays. I guess another would be they fought back from deficits twice but they were paying a really bad team and never should have been trailing for any length of time to begin with.

Wow. Here's a stat:

With Davis in the game, MSU 41 Wisconsin 20
With Davis on the bench, Wisconsin 57 MSU 35

in positive news dook is taking it on the chin at home from Syracuse. we might only lose to them by single digits if we play them this year.

Duke is awful looking this year. I think this might be their worst team since 2007 when they went 8-8 in the ACC and lost first round to 11 seed VCU.

they'd probably beat us right now...

Id bet they would be all world against us. After Tine went out and we lost our mojo were a tad shaky. We might not see the team we saw pre Iowa game. Ive already prepared myself for it.

There's a lot of time for us to become the team we need to be. There are some positives like zel starting to look like the pre injury Zel. I'm sure our record would be a little different if he was never hurt. Give it time, I think we'll get right

I'm not worried...yet. Teams are going to lose games here and there on the road in conference. Look around at the other conferences. Wisconsin lost at Rutgers last year for crying out loud (yes without Kaminsky). I think the Iowa game at Breslin was an aberration.

If we don't take care of Maryland at home coming up, then I start to worry a bit more. Winning at NW after that, which would be about like trying to win in Madison would also be key. Get to 7-3 with the road trips with UM and Purdue and see what happens from there.

the Iowa game at breslin wasn't as bad as losing to a shitty Wisconsin team. when you have back to back bad losses its hard to call them aberrations. The team needs some work. I think they will get better and have a chance to compete for the conference title with a little luck. my take away from the last couple weeks is that we are not as deep as we thought - at least offensively and we need someone else to step up and be a second leader behind Denzel - the team is basically rudderless without him.

Losing at home in a game where you trailed by 20+ much of the time is way worse. Wisconsin has a few bad losses but isn't that bad. They did win at Syracuse still and have had a few close losses. The bad part about the loss was that they had gone up 4 with a minute left and had the ball, and couldn't close and execute in the final minute.

And Kansas is losing by 15 right now to an Oklahoma State team that is probably no better than Wisconsin. Again, shit happens sometimes on the road in conference. Especially this year where there does not appear to be a dominant team.

I agree Izzo needs to tighten up the rotation. I think part of the problem is some of the depth is inconsistent (like say McQuaid who is struggling some of late) so he's trying to find a hot hand. So if his 8th/9th man is struggling his decision most of this year has been to then turn to the 10th/11th/12th man because he figures they have the ability to get something done. Probably he just needs to go with about 9 and if the 8th/9th guy doesn't have it, go back with the starter. Only go deeper than that in extreme foul trouble.

we also need to get forbes going, he was great when Denzel was out but he's struggled since he's been back. I know he had the big first half against PSU but denzel didn't play much that half. Maybe it's coincidence, you'd think those guys just play so well together but if Bryn played better both of those games would have been different.
