Not surprised. We have to pray for the murderers with the same fervency we pray for the slain. That is what makes us Catholic. But I have an eye on the exits and entrances every time I attend Mass. Not that I could make much of an impact if our church was attacked by these extremely misguided and hateful people.

If this was champ's 'christians behaving badly' thread Byco and KAWDUP would be right there complaining about how unfair it is to lump all Christians in with a few bad eggs, but change that word to 'Muslim' and here Byco is with his rally hat on.

Also, has the OP posted a thread lately that was not pure bigotry or racial hatred? Seriously, fucking *ohio people...

He may have said it or he may not...I don't know. All I do know is I don't believe in forgiving some assholes from Isis that are killing all of these innocent people. Just like I don't pray for some pedophile who rapes and kills children. These people deserve no mercy.

Are you aware that the pope has declared 2016 as the Year of Mercy? We are not the arbiters of judgement. It's not ours to exact.

No one deserves mercy. It's a gift, freely given. But only to those who extend it to others.

I recommend a thorough review of the Beatitudes. They are not conditional, and are especially relevant now.

Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.

I know there is an element that wants to kill you and me equally and without distinction except for their desire to eviscerate non-Muslims from the earth. Are they representative of the Muslim faith? I don't know and it's irrelevant. But they are "those extremely misguided and hateful people" I refer to.

And, for the record, I do not believe that I have ever made a plea for anyone to accept that the "Christians behaving badly" thread is not indicative of all Christians, because it, in fact, is. Mull on that one for awhile.
