The Lions by a wide, wide, wide margin is the worst professional sports franchise in North America.

I'd say, "If only they had drafted Brady"...but the Lions would have made him into a QB incapable of winning.

I disagree with that. While I think they're the worst NFL franchise ever, to me the Clippers are the worst of all time. Also I would put the Cubs just below them for 2nd worst, Lions 3rd worst.

How about this, name a franchise worse than the Lions in ALL sports?

Clippers? Cubs? Florida Panthers?

Detroit has had the worst professional football franchise in terms of futility, ever since the AFL/NFL merger, however the city of Cleveland can lay claim to having been the worst city overall in professional sports, losing both their NFL (temporarily) and their NHL teams, the latter in the Barons lasting all of only 2 seasons. The NBA Cavaliers have never won a NBA championship title, and their MLB AL Indians have not won a WS championship in 66 years (1948)

The city of Chicago has had not one....but TWO MLB franchises since the turn of the 20th century, but between both, they have managed only ONE WS championship in a combined 200+ seasons...lol.
