Nate Burleson on NFL AM

could be a very big IF mitch....as in IF mayhew & schwartz are willing to stake their jobs on him...

Heh, if he makes a mistake or acts all mental than you boot him. I think its worth it though, will the lack of WR we have..

They won't have to. Look, I think Mayhew and Schwartz know both their jobs depend on the 2013 season. IMO, they are laying the groundwork IN CASE they have to bring him back. I think they're trying to move him for a decent offer. However, if it doesn't happen, you bring him back.

If it works and 2013 is a success....it's a win/win. If it doesn't work, and next season is a lot of the same, Schwartz and Mayhew are looking for employment elsewhere anyway. They really can't lose if they bring him back.

Did you note where he said he was surprised by letting Jefferson go, said he was a good motivator and all. This move is still rather :hmm:

It's awful. They keep the dude making all the trouble; because they need so much defensive help that they are gonna keep him and hope he pans out so that the focus won't be on a receiver this offseason. If Burleson and Broyles manage to stay healthy, then that would buy them time without a huge depth hit at the position should Young Sr. pull another bitch move.

They let Jefferson go because, well, they had to let someone go in order to make it seem as though they give a damn about change. It seemed to me like he was the one to keep, but then again he would have probably laid hands on titus lmaoooooooo.

Boom or Bust next season gents. I feel like I got front row seats to a car-crash spectacular. :-/

is putting a retard on IR for 2 games really showing accountability? When you cant cut a retard cause you cant afford to do so cause you have no talent at a position you draft or trade for every single year....welp its simply sad and again speaks to how horrible we are at talent evaluation.

Broyles is a talented WR, but he suffered an injury. Burleson is talented and is a huge leader on this team. Mike Thomas is a talented WR also, but he was thrown into the fire immediately in a complicated system. Even that Durham kid looked ok and he was on the practice squad. Wtf are you talking about?

You'd complain if we cut him because we'd definitely be drafting another WR. You complain because we might keep him because you don't like him and think he's trash. All you do is complain about everything..lol.

Burleson talks about Young in high praise. I'll take his word over anybody on this board that the kid can ball. We seen it his rookie year...

What?? hughes complain?? You must be mistaken Tony. That dude is a regular Tony Robbins!!!!

Hughes is the type of guy that complained that Barry Sanders had too many negative carries!!

yet youre using our WR corps as an excuse for stafford not being up to par in another thread. Id rather be a complainer than a hippocrit :p

nah...just that we had scott mitchell as a qb for all those years and did nothing to improve the position.

Hypocrite? I just pointed out that Stafford never had a set core of guys to work with all year. It seemed liked a different WR was thrown in the mix every week. Only an idiot would think that we don't have talented wideouts on this team.

Get it right.

So everyone is talented but we only outscore our opponents 4 times out of 16? So its coaching?

Now you`re reaching..lol. All im saying is we have WRs on this team who are talented besides #81. But of course you wont admit that.

how can i possibly admit it? Im a realist and ive always been a realist....i need to see it first! There absolutely no production from ANYONE on our offense not named calvin johnson. Not leshoure, not broyles, not titus, not nate....not anyone. Pettigrew is great for about 80 6 yard curls a year. So far theyre swing n misses. I was actually comming around on broyles this year....then he goes and makes himself a cripple again. I dont even know if titus will be back. And nate is overpaid. If it wasnt for the oline the offense would be in more shambles than the defense that needs 8 new starters. and the oline isnt that good....

So, let me get this straight. The only TALENTED WR on this team is CJ? Young, Broyles, Burly are all dogshit? Thats what youre saying?

I get the production part for this year. Since youre so fixated on production and nobody on the Lions produces shit except #81. But youre saying nobody is worth a spit on offense?

Thats priceless...

Pettigrew is a 700 yard tight end for 2 years in a row (2010/2011). On his way this year to 700 until he got hurt.

Broyles showed he was productive in his limited time. Can't wait until he comes back so you'll shut the hell up about drafting him.

Burleson was having a decent year before his injury. Big TD catch against the Eagles in the come back and big TD catch against the Titans for a lead(that loss was not the offense except for Raoila). He has produced for the Lions and did so in 2010/2011 as well. He's a nice compliment in the slot.

Young had a knee injury and then unfortunately became a headache. 4 Tds were helpful though in what 10 games and a big part in one win. That plus 2011 shows Titus has talent just no brains being a hot head. Notice in the 4 wins(.500 ball) half way thorugh and the 3 other games we had tough teams(Pack, Houston, Indy) on the ropes very late with leads we should have won, Stafford had good WRs and Pettigrew. Detroit was ridiculously close to 7-5 when they had their weapons. Throw in Tennesee/Minnesota special teams fiascos and they are 9-3 through 12 games with weapons.

pettigrew doesnt run any routes other than a 6 yd curl and he drops half of those.

You keep saying burleson is good in the slot but in most sets hes the #2 on the outside opposite calvin.

I liked what broyles was doing....hes quick out of his break and can create some seperation. Unfortunately, he cant stop his knees from being seperated.

We were close to 7-5 and should have been 9-3 lolololol....youre just too funny man. You have good knowledge of the game yet somehow you stay extremely optomistic when the bottom line is we have a 4 win team, 22 free agents, needs 8 new starters on defense, couple more on offense, cap constraints, poor drafts (or should i say unproductive drafts), we keep trading away all of our late round picks which is obviously affecting our special teams, regressing qb, 3.6 ypc starting rb, defense that cant stop anyone when it matters, abnormal amount of off the field issues, coaches going crazy and a BPA draft strategy that never seems to fill any holes. All i can say is that i appreciate your patience lol....but i just dont see how this gets turned around quickly.
