Nate Burleson on NFL AM

Pettigrew and Burleson are 700 yard producers. That's a fact.

Broyles has even more potential than Burleson barring further injury problems.

Lions were closer to 7-5 than you think. Yes they were 4-8 and we have to deal with it but it's not like they weren't close to winning 3 those games and you know it (same with Titan and Viking game at home).

Lions can cut the dead weight to solve the cap and extend Stafford. And you should be happy they have 22 free agents if you think they suck so bad.

Drayton Florence, DeAndre Levy, Jacob Lacey, Erik Coleman, Dylan Gandy, Corey Hilliard, Kassim Osgood, Nick Harris, Ricardo Silva, Keiland Williams, Stefan Logan, Will Heller, Kris Durham, Corey Williams(who barely played this year and clearly Fairley is better), Andre Fluellen, Pat Lee do we really NEED any of these guys back to get better. Be happy most of those guys are free agents because it forces Mayhew to look elsewhere and maybe upgrade some of them on the back end of the roster. Although Osgood and Heller I wouldn't mind back. They'll be cheap.

Houston,Delmas,Durant(run defense, sucks against pass), Hanson(or decent kicker who can boom it on kickoffs),Muhlbach(good long snapper), Sammie Lee Hill(still need a good backup DT for injury or DT rotation) we need back. Maybe Lawrence Jackson(only good run D DE)/Willie Young(return to 2011 form) we need back if they get their act together as backups. Plus Spievey and Fox for depth as cheap restricted free agents.

Gosder meh, we have Reiff and Backus. If Backus retires, then we have money for Gosder back or someone equivalent.

Avril played like dog crap for most of the year, KVB,Peterman,Raiola will be well deserving cap cuts. Lions get better losing all 3 of those "starters". Avril we'll see if we can draft a better DE than him in the top 5.

ok....then im allowed to say that in 2011 the lions were close to being 6-10 lol. Since we luckily pulled wins out of our asses in several of those games.

I agree with most everything else you said except they wont cut crayola. I dont know why they wont cut crayola.....but they wont.

Lions earned every win in 2011. Dominate second halves/4th Quarter(Raiders) for those comebacks. Great pressure forcing picks. Best making a big play or two in 2 divisional games Great int returns or fumble returns for 7 TDs instead of 0 like in 2012. Lions earned all 10 wins. Even the Viking game with the facemask they were cruising before Webb had some unconventional runs against the Lions backup defense missing both DTs, Durant, Houston and Delmas.

Lions earned every loss this year too when it's all said in done but they were far from outplayed other than the 2 games(at 49ers at Minnesota) in the first 12 games. But in the future there is easy turnover fixes, turnovers that were very unforced at times by the opposing team. They can get back to 10-6 in one of three ways
1) Stafford back to very good or elite year (possible see 2011)
2) force more turnovers and have less fluke fumbles(9 more lost in 2012) or turnovers that directly lead to points (10 in 2012 compared to 5 in 2011)
3) The Hard way. Fix 2 of the following: run defense, discipline, lack of pressure, running the ball effectively consistently, coverage at crucial times with a good offseason

interception returns for touchdowns from bobby carpenter and Houston when youre down like 27-3 is a miracle....i dont care what you say.

They were earned. Carpenter read it perfectly and his return was a thing of beauty weaving all over the place. Houston adjusted, he was getting beat by the slant all first half by Robinson and Houston recognized and jump the route. Sorry earned 14 points. The Raider comeback was Stafford and Calvin being elite. The Panther comeback they won by 14 points and had the lead mid 3rd Quarter and the Viking comeback they just flat out dominated the Vikings in the second half. Stafford finally got protection and made two nice TDs to Calvin and Best had a huge 60 yard to set up the second one to Calvin. Then it was some big field goal drives from there.

But if you want to talk about 2011 miracles, how about the Ted Ginn return with a block in the back against the 49ers and extra 5 yards by the refs for a short field on that last TD drive and Stefan Logan giving a miracle to the Falcons for their first TD in 23-16 loss. That Logan fumble was on a re-kick by the way after a Falcon offside, so it was supposed to help the Lions. Not to mention White's circus catch for the other TD. Stafford throwing a pick at Green Bay in 2011 while in the redzone with Burleson slipped on the field, Calvin dropping a sure TD, Hanson missing a chip shot and of course the obvious Titus Young TD called a non TD with Schwartz unable to challenge. Miracles for the other team in those 3 losses.

It's funny the fact that you call that luck but the 10 returns on the Lions this year just means the Lions just suck and Mayhew is a terrible talent evaluator. Somehow it wasn't a miracle for the other team the Lions lost to the Titans, Vikings, Packers, Texans and Colts. I saw about 8 miracles for the other teams in those 5 games.
