Nets 130 Pistons 123 Final

A pretty perfect game. The team kept close against a legitimately good opponent, Cade looked great (still needs to work on drawing fouls), the 2nd year guys looked pretty good, and the team lost. I personally don't think beef stew or Hayes are going to be difference makers to the overall rebuild, but I like to see them contributing. Can't ask for much more than that.

The thought is that Mobley leads for ROY, but Mobley might be done for the year with an ankle so the voters will only get a look at Cade the last couple weeks here.

Stats:
Cade 17.4-5.7-5.6 with 1.2 steals and 0.7 blocks

Mobley 14.9-8.3-2.5 with 0.8 steals and 1.6 blocks.

Mobley had a nice rookie season, but to me it's clearly Cade with the way he's played the last month, he's averaging 22.5 points this month.

I thought Cade & Mobley would be neck and neck but the oddsmakers have Mobley at -800 and Cade +550. That is a huge difference. Maybe the voters are taking into consideration team record a little??

ROY has not been like MVP in that regard historically, team record has meant little. And the voting is also harder to predict.

Cade has been playing like an All Star for a month, but you never know.

I think Cade made the Pistons last 17 points. I sure hope he wins ROY.

Hayes played his 85th Career game last night and he is so young still. He was a -3 but in 33 minutes off the bench he had 13 points 4 steals, 4 rebounds, 3 assists. He is so young and he plays defense! Man I hope he makes it. I think he had to guard Durant at times stool.

Also late in the game .. Cade drove on Durant and got a bucket and 1. It was great to see Cade getting that call.

While I don't think you can make the case that Killian was a good pick yet, I think he's shown enough now that he's probably not going to be a total bust. He's a really good defender and can distribute the ball on offense. He can be a good bench piece if he continues to develop.

Your right. Hayes probably only has 1 or 2 more years tops to prove he can be a good piece.
It?s going to be close weather he makes it or not.
