New O?fer record

I am sure Don Long, their first year hitting coach, is proud.

Scott Coolbaugh was the previous hitting coach. This is as much an indictment against the hitting coach as it is against the player.

No self-respecting player, regardless of what he is making, would be laughing at this.

Just horrible. Regardless how he plays the rest of the way you can't make up 0 for 49.

Mahtook Might break this record already yet before much longer

He does have a couple of RBIs on the season. That’s a pretty good hit to RBI ratio, possibly-zero hits, two RBIs.

If he fails to hit in either of two home games tonight or tomorrow, he goes on the road with the Orioles for a four game series in Boston.

If that happens, wouldn’t it be funny if those bastard Red Sox fans give him a standing ovation every time he fails to hit, in recognition of his achievement in the setting of a new major league record?

They are making a line now at Pimlico on whether or not Chris Davis breaks his streak before the Preakness Stakes.

Davis now 0 for 2 today; just grounded out to second, breaking yet again another major league record.

In his third official at bat of the day, Davis strikes out looking, once again breaking and extending his own major-league record.

Were there any other teams interested in him when he signed that deal? I had a feeling when he signed it that it would be bad. Had no idea this bad.
