Are there any NHL preseason games? Is the entire preseason non-existent due to World Cup?

Preseason starts October 2nd with 5 preseason games.

Lets be fair, Detroit hasn;t been a contender in years.
Am I the only one who is annoyed by the use of the term odds when they mean payout ratio?
Technically, odds are related to probability whose sum should up to 1.
Payout ratio's are "guesses" and total will usually be greater than 1 to encourage the consumer to make a wager. The house always win.
