Geez, I figured there would be someone on here expressing complete outrage over how that Dallas hospital screwed up or how we should stop allowing people come to the US from Africa until quarantined for a month or some other anti-Africa comments or SOMETHING!

What a bunch of slackers you all are! ;P

So anyway, it will be interesting to see how well the CDC is able to get this instance isolated. They claim Ebola cannot become a rampant problem in the US, and part of me wonders just how much Ebola vaccine they have stockpiled in preparation for a potential outbreak as a result of such a claim. Granted much has to do with the process of isolating people here in the US...but I guess hospitals will now need to start inquiring whether someone showing flu symptoms have travelled to Dallas recently.

On a personal note, I have family in the Dallas area including my sister who is a nurse, so I obviously am hopeful they get this situation under control very quickly.

jdilco created some BS thread about it in the other section I think.

its concerning to me. sounds like we needed a wake up call (not to trivialize it)

It's certainly the lead for some of the cable news networks ..."What you NEED TO KNOW about Ebola and HOW YOU CAN PROTECT YOUR FAMILY from this VERY DEADLY VIRUS!"

Meh, not worried. Ebola doesn't spread so easily and with much better conditions to work in, it should be easily contained. I'd be more worried if people were purposely trying to spread the disease, but that's not the case.

I have been to that very hospital numerous times.

Pretty sure nobody had Ebola when I was there though.

The media over-sensationalizes everything.

This more than usual. Remember the SARS scare? How about Swing Flu? Avian Flu?

The media went nuts over those things, and not one of them evolved into any crisis even a fraction of what the media was trying to sell people on.

I'm surprised michchamp didn't blame Bush..

speaking of blaming Bush...

Fox News had him on to "interview" him on the situation in Iraq. LOL. Is there anyone in the world who's opinion on Iraq should matter less?

The Matt Millen effect..fails at evaluating players so gets hired on NFLN, to evaluate players.

funny. I had a line about Bush commenting on Iraq is like asking Millen for advice on how to run the Lions, but I deleted it.

I'm not sure which would produce worse results.
