No Hanson Deal =

Derek Dimke who they had in training camp last year. He was pretty good

dont sign any kickers. it will force staff to throw some touchdowns this year.

You do realize the Lions were 9th in scoring offense in the entire league. Taking out defensive/special teams for every team(which I did), the Lions 23.3 PPG(which got no help from defense/special teams) is 9th best in the league. Not bad missing Burleson,Young,Broyles,Pettigrew for a quarter of season(2 of those games where Stafford didn't toss a TD) and a speed back for the entire season.

They'll be back to top 5 again in no time.

More than likely this is a leverage move. Hanson has said he wants to come back, and he won't play for another team.

The Lions are putting pressure on him to sign before someone else does. All politics.

I like Hanson, but honestly, who really cares? Akers is a fine replacement if Hanson won't sign on the cheap.

Of course they won't re-sign Hanson! After seeing Kickalicious in action, all others pale in comparison.

No chance on Kickalicious. Scouts are saying he needs 6-7 steps to get those kicks off, not the 2-3 NFL kickers use.

Love that video though. Forget the steps, that boy has some aim. I'm personally jealous.

Yeah pretty obvious his footwork was going to hinder him.

It would be nice to give Hanson one more chance at playoffs.

Hanson Hanson Hanson. If for some odd reason a contract can't be reached, I'd rather get a young kid with a good leg over Akers. Akers is about done anyways.

Murray, Hanson, Akers I don't think so. I like the guy we had in last year though I think someone picked him up. Pick a K late or bring in a bunch of un-drafted K's.

I'd kinda like to see us draft a punter over a kicker. Maybe Locke from UCLA, Brad Wing from LSU (although I've read he's kind of a F-up), or the kid from Oklahoma State. I'm really not sure if there are many stud kickers in the draft or not. I think Florida, Florida State, and Nebraska had pretty good kickers. Heck, maybe even grabbing somebody like Dan Conroy from MSU after the draft as a UDFA might be a realistic target.

Want a punter, UFA.

We have two 7th round picks. I would grab and punter and kicker with those picks. Sharp from OK state and Sturgis from Florida. God knows Mayhew won't draft any quality players that late. Might as well get someone who will contribute.

I like the P from LSU Wing. He has a cannon for a leg and is accurate. And the K from Nebraska Maher.
