It's now truly the end of an era. No disrespect to Hanson intended, but it was a pretty awful era, and maybe that's not such a bad thing.

He was an amazing kicker, and one of the few brights spots in some very dark years.
 
He won't get the national respect he deserves, partially because he IS a kicker......but he was one of the best K in NFL history.

Never had the chance to make any really big kicks because of the state of the franchise over the last 21 years, but he hit a good number of "pretty big" kicks.

Hanson was awesome. And these days, of draft K or P - not needed. UFA babies..
