Or no love from Republicans, or non-partisans, or commies or libertarians either I guess.

Dang, it's been almost two weeks.

I'll give some love.

Mario Cuomo was a very important political figure in the State of New York, and the United States.

May he Rest In Peace.

I understand he was (or may have been) more legitimately liberal/progressive than his son, and to that extent, wish had more influence. I'm not that familiar with him though. I remember him mostly from his uncertain days of waffling over whether or not to run for president (I think that was '92?).

I'm not too up-to-speed on the finer points of NY state politics. I know Andrew is governor & trounced (and was kind of a jerk to) much more liberal candidates during the primary, while portraying himself as an up-from-the-bootstraps guy...

Well, the Cuomos are and have always been first, last and always law and order Democrats (both were the Attorney General of New York before being governor), while being moderately liberal/progressive on other things.

It's a pretty good formula for Democrats to win elections in North Eastern seaboard states; not unlike the way Republicans like Christie and Romney and Whitman and Pataki have been able to be elected in predominantly blue states by being conservative on some things and moderate to liberal on other things.

The Cuomos are personally close to my former mother in law's family; I'll tell you more about it off the board if you want to know.

The First Girlfriend of the State of New York bought my friend's parent's house in a tony suburb when they moved to Boston so his dad could teach at Harvard. She's pretty hot for an older bird - hot enough to get a cooking show where she heats up prepackaged food in a microwave.

Wow that's pretty cool.

And I like that adjective "tony;' not that many people use it anymore.
