Get StartedThey kinda go hand in hand. If you don't play you can't produce.
Broyles has 20 snaps that's impressive, didn't expect much from him with the injury. 2nd half of the season is when we should find out what we have with those 2.
What injury?..he played most of the preseason and they play him in games. Hes not injured. But if thats the case and he plays more the 2nd half then Titus turns into a waste. Either way they were dumb picks to makein back to back years. Millenesque really...
When drafted he was pegged for the PUP so any pt is a bonus. I get it, your pissed that were 4 games in and he hasn't been inducted to the HOF but we weren't exactly set at wr. Millen would have drafted a cb or ol just to fill out the 53. If we had passed on Broyles and titus we would have what at wr cj and burleson then????? we pass 60% of the time so wr is kinda important.
Stats dont lie. We dont even have many 3 wr sets. Were more likely to be in a 2 te set than a 3 wr set. And if were in a 3 wr set and throw than 90% of the time itll be thrown to cj, nate, pettigrew or a back. Sorry if i dont see the need to waste two 2nd rd picks on that type of lackluster production. And people that.sit in draft threads with me on here cant say im saying all this in hindsight....i said the same thing the day broyles and titus were drafted.
I know you didn't like it. All I was getting at was that he's coming off an ACL so I?m surprised he has gotten any snaps let alone a couple routes in the pre and reg season. Coming off the bye he should be good to go physically so we should get a look at what we got and hopefully he can move up the chart. 4 games is too soon to be concerned. As for Titus all he's shown me is that he's immature. His rook year he looked promising but he hasn't done anything this year so we shall see.
You guys are concerned about the lack of production from the 2012 draft class? How about the complete lack of production from the 2010 and 2011 draft classes?
2010:
Suh was the obvious pick so I'm not even going to give Mayhew credit for that. Best can't see the field and has a career 3.7 YPC. Take out his 88 yard TD run last year and that goes down to 3.37 YPC. Spievay played so poorly that he doesn't even see the field anymore, despite us having the worst safeties in the league this season. Jason Fox barely has a roster spot let alone a role on this team, and despite having more hype than any other player during preseason and training camp, Willie Young hasn't accomplished anything this season (1 tackle, no sacks).
2011:
After the awful offseason this draft class had, I was really hoping that they'd set out to prove themselves this season. Fairley has hugely underperformed and is more of a liability than a threat at this point. Titus Young has 8 catches for 71 yards when you don't count his completely fluky Hail Mary grab. I'd honestly rather have Kevin Smith start than Leshoure at this point, and Doug Hogue has so far been a waste of a pick.
Hell even Mayhew's acclaimed 2009 draft class isnt looking that great this year. Sure our special teams have killed us, but the fact is that I cant name a single player this year that isnt underperforming, with the exception of Megatron. I thought my prediction of 9 wins this season was possibly a bit low, but right now I can absolutely see us finishing around 6-10, possibly even worse if you look at the schedule.
Titus Young, Pettigrew, Delmas, Sammie Lee Hill all have and can produce well in the future. Young's slow start sucks but he has a knee injury. Broyles we knew they would take it slow this year. Along with draft picks given up for Corey Williams, Chris Houston, Rob Sims, Tony Scheffler, Lawernce Jackson(2011 pick) and Shaun Hill in 2010.
Stafford is fine and the slow start is not on him.
Suh is a little overhyped as he doesn't bring consistent pressure since 2010 and his run defense sucks. Suh benefited from Corey Williams balling in 2010 to clean up. But he's still a good player. That was the thinking behind drafting Fairely IMO but Fairley hasn't lived up to his billing thanks to injury but this year poor play in 3 games.
Willie Young has shown flashes in 2011 and still has 12 games to do something. Same with LeShoure. Too early to write them off.
Best is all injury as you have to factor in his receiving yards too and how inconsistent Detroit is at run blocking. Usually they are bad run blocking against good run blocking defenses. He's a playmaker but we are just very unlucky with him. Yes we knew but he went all of 2010 with no concussion. It's bad luck and a shame if he doesn't pass the test this week.
Fairley it's almost time to judge since he has never produced and is a 1st rounder. Though his run defense is better than people think.
Spievey sucks and Fox was injured and now we don't need him at tackle.
If all those first group of players regress and Fairley never produces then we are in trouble but they all have talent.
