LT still a major concern , as we all know....gotta limit those shots , waching that mic's up thing on Staff he did take a couple of real good whacks.

Jeff Backus - T - Lions

Although the Lions offensive line has yet to give up a sack this season, Matthew Stafford was hit six times last week, including four shots by Chiefs OLB Tamba Hali.
ESPN analyst Mark Schlereth found fault with LT Jeff Backus when breaking down film. "Don't let stats get in the way of facts

Doesn't that kind of ignore the fact Hali had 14.5 sacks last season? He's good. Backus is solid, but he's not a brick wall. Stafford's shoulder will be fine. Hopefully the rest of his body holds up. It's also not like LT's better than Backus are sitting at home on their couches either.

If that's all Schlereth has to nitpick about I'm fine. Rodgers, Brady, Brees....they all get sacked.

i think backus will be fine for this year, but he really should be on the right side if they decide to keep him going forward. they must address LT at some point. I think holding out hope for Fox is not going to be a good idea.

They are calling the plays to protect him. A lot of shot gun and 3 step drops. Martz would have Stafford dead by now if he was still our OC.

He's bailing the o-line out with his smarts. He got threw the ball away 2-3 times when he could have taken a sack, and he gets the ball out pretty fast. Then they run a lot of short dump offs to the receivers so the combination of that stuff helps. When we play the bears, they need to sit pettigrew's ass on the left side and double up on Peppers ALL GAME......

put Pettigrew with Backus....He isnt getting many opportunities in the pass game anyways

Not sure I've seen Detroit use a TE on the left side.

But I agree with that article. 4 hits by the same guy means the LT isn't getting the job done.

#9 took some shots, but give the kid some credit, boys. He got up everytime with a smile. Except the one play where he was hit right in the square of his back...he winced a bit and i shook for a second...lol. He's a tough SOB!!!

going to see some good QB killers now to....Allen , Ware , Johnson , Peppers , Matthews.

HEADS UP !!!!!

The TD to scheffler hit was super duper late...dont know why it wasnt called.

Yes....I believe the NFL rule book states that "super duper" late hits should be flagged every time.
