After watching all the highlights and commentary on MLB network for what started with a hard slide into second by Brett Lawrie I think Kansas City was a little over reactionary to it all, Eric Byrnes had some great comments on it all and even collected a series of clips from the 80's on some of the hard slides into second back then and how what lawrie did was nothing and not overly egregious at all, unfortuntley Escobar was hurt on the play but it was far from intentional or overly aggressive, he was just trying to break up a double play which it what your taught to do..

Anyone else feel the same or see it otherwise..I'm not a fan of lawrie either just calling it how I see it, Kansas City took this too far imo

Probably over reacted.

First thing I think is bunch of pussies, and the sisification of the game. Can't throw inside and so many players are used to this rule 'they' get bent out of shape.

Can't break up a double play anymore? fuck what do Frank Robinson, Reggie, Don Baylor, and Gibby think of this? You go in hard, infielder remember and will throw a bullet to first the next time at the runners head. Get down mfr.

Then it's the money, so many millions committed to so many players. MLB had to protect the assets.

Interesting MLB networking discussing the royals again tonight pointing out that thier have been bean ball and temper flare issues in every series they have played in so far this year, seems teams are throwing at many of them even before he lawire incident...white Soxs, angels and twins before oakland..keep an eye on it
