Nobel Laureate Toni Morrison departed, age 88.
Here is her famous or infamous quote.
Barely a decade after this statement, a black dude was elected president.
Although arguably Clinton was blacker in a lot of ways than the actual black Barack Obama.
But Obama was elected during Morrison?s children?s lifetime, so there are a lot of interesting perspectives.
That being said, I?m going to move this to the politics board, as Morrison was in many ways a political figure as she made a lot of political commentary.
Not that she was not delighted about it.

So Obama proved her wrong in that he was black in the non-skin-color way described in that link and they failed to remove him from his job or lock him away?
That's fair, but it's not like they didn't try with the birtherism stuff.
I don't know the backstory behind the thread, but I was never a big fan of her writing
Clinton was arguably blacker than Obama in the non-skin color way.
Specifically, he had a predilection for a lot of strange white pussy, which is a characteristic of black dudes.
There is no record that Obama, the actual black dude, ever chased any white pussy, or any pussy at all out of wedlock for that matter.
So that?s the paradox.
Perhaps my thread title is incorrect.
Perhaps indeed, Clinton was blacker than the actual black person that ended up being elected in Morrison?s children?s life time.
Arguably, Trump is blacker than Obama for that matter.
Possibly a lot of presidents were blacker than Obama if you gauge white pussy chasing as the barometer.
I don?t know when we?re going to see an actual black president chasing white pussy around the oval office.
Maybe never.
Obama's long time girlfriend before Michelle was white and they were engaged but he broke it off. If I'm not mistaken, he wrote about it in his book where he admitted to breaking up with her because of his political ambitions and the bad optics of having a white wife or something like that.
Maybe Sasha or Melia will come out as a lesbian, get elected POTUS and chase white women around the oval office.
That could happen.
Meanwhile Obama possibly made it safe for Kamala Harris to parade her white husband around; although I did hear a clip of some black dude on an urban radio station giving her some flack for being married to a white dude.
I can?t find the audio though.
Well, Toni had a right to her opinion. I'd be interested in what she thinks now.
Me too.
She?s thinking, ?damn I wish I had never said that about Clinton. It?s all anybody is going to remember about me.?
That?s if she?s thinking anything at all.
And right around where she would be thinking that, I have no idea.
It's one thing to have been pro-Clinton prior to 2016, when you could still say "Well, yeah, he was sleazy, but at least he wasn't George W Bush. and he had to compromise with Republicans because, politics."
but during the 2016 Democratic primary, when an actual decent person, who has always been on the right side of the civil rights issue (Bernie Sanders) ran, it kinda drew a line in the sand. It was no longer a "lesser of two evils" thing.
I can't find anything to see where Morrison landed as between Hillary and Bernie; everything I see in 2016 refers to her attacking Trump only.
I don't know if she would have, or did, pull a John Lewis routine and lie about Bernie's record to protect Hillary's chances. If she did, that would tell me she was sticking to her statement about Bill being the first black president.
Bernie does not want to save babies who survive abortions and are alive out of the womb. That's simply monstrous. So I do not share the sentiment that Bernie is a "actual decent person."
Well, since no US politician does, maybe you can get past that in this case?
