...if he would be a little even handed when it comes to dishing out criticism regarding the "lack of cooperation" between the two major parties in Congress.

Because the god damn fuckin' Democrats are being just as "belligerent (the word I just heard him use on the news)" as the god damn, son of a bitch mother fuckin' Republicans are.

Time to step up and be a little more presidential, Barry.

I mean, ya won, for God sakes, din'cha?

Not to mention he is a lame duck so it has zero impact on his political future in terms of elections, unless he plans to return to congress after the presidency, but I find that doubtful.

Nice to see you call out both parties tinsel!!! I like it!!!!

Return to Congress???

The other formers would group together, and profoundly discourage this type of endeavour...

A very unseemly activity, indeed, for a member of the club...

there are some real political differences between various elected officials, but these "fights" over the budget are not them.

this is more like Wrestlemania. Some guys act like the bad guys, some guys act like the good guys, but all the numbers have already been agreed to behind closed doors.

Yeah...always seems to be the case...

Keeps the "talking points partisans" on both sides on point, I suppose...

they raised taxes in January.

Republicans had been screaming bloody murder about not raising taxes & that taxes were too damn high from as soon as Obama took office until last fall when the machinations for this tax hike started, when they were silent. similarly, it doesn't appear that the Tea Partiers (via the people who pull their strings) were particularly upset by it, even though this was the sine qua non of their very existence.

i found it all quite revealing.

they scream about taxes when there is no chance that a tax hike is on the table. the second one is, they talk about other issues. to me, means there's little point in paying attention to all this.

first one would have to get an understanding of the numbers involved, THEN see what the proposed changes are, who is proposing the changes and who is opposing them, and only then can one really chime in to blame Obama, or Republicans, or House Democrats, or whoever is "taking the fall" on this one. seems like no one really took much of reputational hit in January. that's some great political maneuvering.

up until now, there has been pretty much a bi-partisan consensus on when to cut benefits, raise or cut taxes for certain income brackets, etc., and this consensus has almost uniformly placed more of the tax burden on the poor, middle class, and elderly, while reducing the benefits they receive from the state in return.

Politicians are the magicians who rule over us, that much I can agree with.

Look over there while we quietly maneuver over here, then when we finally reveal what we have done, you will be left dumbfounded to the point of sheepishly going along with our plans. Maybe not quietly, but definitely without a choice. And if you are really upset, well we can create an even bigger distraction that will cause you to eventually forget about it.

So it took all that to reveal to you what most have known already for some time? Politicians - all of them.

. . . and you call yourself a psueo-intellectual. Oh . . . wait that was someone else who called you that!
