MHSAA does the fans no favors by putting Muskegon and Lowell in the same district.. Such a shame when a tiny little tweak could have moved the Big Reds north... Oh well it happens in all the divisions..

I think my kids school caught a break getting moved down south to play Battle Creek Harper Creek ( lost in semi's last year) even though they are playoff tested and we are not it just is better to get moved out of GR if you want to advance around here.. Other half of the bracket is winnable Wayland (5-4) verses Plainwell (8-1).. But I have to say BCHC is the favorite in the district..

Agreed. Marquette probably should have been put in with Muskegon, Shores and Puffer. Lowell either should have been in with the south bracket or with mid (Lansing area) bracket. Hate that 4 of the top 10-12 teams in div 2 are in the same bracket. Especially looking at some of those weak east side brackets. 4 of the 5 total losses of the teams in the west bracket are to the other teams in that bracket. The other loss was to Div 1 qualifier Hudsonville.

Also, I really don't like that Zeeland East made it in at 5-4. They lost their last 4 games and in 3 of those they lost so bad they had a running clock against them at some point of the game. Then you look at a smaller school like North Muskegon getting left out at 5-4 while all their losses came to playoff qualifiers and were generally close games.

I was surprised that Zeeland East still had enough points to make it and I was really hoping at 5-4 North Muskegon would make it in d-7 or d-8.

Other heartbreakers.. 5-4 East Grand Rapids. LoL They allowed a 41 yard wind aided FG to forced ot by 3-5 Forest Hill's Central.. Then allowed a fake extra point to beat them for a 2 point conversion. Bye bye EGR.

Caledonia started out 4-1. Lost their last three of their last four including last two in OT.
Loses are Mona Shores 32-20. Lowell 53-23..last two in ot to EGR 24-17, and Grand Rapids Christian 13-7..Tough schedule.

Also Orchard Lake St Mary at 5-4 misses out.. That is good for the rest of D-3 including Byron Center's opponent Battle Creek Harper Creek who OLSM had beaten in the last two D-3 Semi's.More I think on it Byron Center is in trouble.

This district. Has my nephew's old team Mason playing in it. I think Mason catches a huge break missing Dewitt.. Even though Charlotte has thumped them this year and last it is a winnable district.. Congrats to Eaton rapids at 5-4.. First winning season since 1993, and I think first playoff appearance.. Not sure on that.. I think their coach that had the winning season in 1993 was brought back to.. So that is weird. Charlotte thumped Mason in the regular season. Mason thumped Eaton Rapids. Eaton Rapids beat Charlotte.

Picked ER verses Charlotte as one of its 4 games they will stream online this week.

I made a bracket for D1. I just find brackets easier to read and interpret in terms of potential matchups in later round.

I might make a D2 and D3 bracket if I have time.

I just wait on here and give a big run down on the championship games with my prediction.. I Was way off South Christian and Detroit Country Day last year.. I was also surprised how Ishpeming manhandled Detroit Loyola... maybe I will give a prediction on who I will meet in the finals but I would probably go with my heart...LOL

First year I didn't follow High school football in decades. Looks like some of the regulars are back where they always are. I see my Hudson Tigers got a bad draw. They should beat Britton, but Loyola next, LOL, not going to be pretty. Although I said the same thing 3 years ago and we beat their ass pretty handily. Problem is, half their team were frershman and sophmores when we played them. Now they're seniors. I would love to see anothe Loyola Ishpeming matchup. That surprised everyone last year.
