Paternos name off B1G Champ Trophy

That's too bad, but that's what enablers get............a front face fall down a rocky cliff from grace.

wow. yeah, I thought for sure the big Ten would hedge on this, or at least wait until things died down so they didn't risk offending any of the "Paterno is a scapegoat" types...

I have no problem with taking his name off the trophy. Part of the perils of naming an award after a living person.

It should've been the Schembechler-Hayes trophy anyway. Or maybe the Yost-Stagg.

So now it's just called the "Stag" (sic) trophy. How ironic.

It was a stupid idea in the first place. The majority of Paterno's career at Penn State was not when Penn State was in the B1G.

Beyond that, it should never have been named after an active coach actually competing for the trophy named after his own self - how idiotic is that?

"I accept this first ever award in humble deference to the great name inscribed upon it - my own fucking and inimitable self."

No wonder the old fucker had such hubris in the end.
