On cornerbacks: Patriots are in on chris houston. Derek cox is scheduling visits, but nothing with pats at the moment. They called saturday.
hmmm...tough decision for Houston....lol
I know right?!?
Of all the teams to have to compete with. This already bad secondary will take a HUGE step back if we lose Houston.
HUGE.
agreed..pretty much 1 of the only teams that vets chack their ego at the door and even take alot less money to play for.
Hope Mayhew and Schwartz know something I don't about Green/Greenwood/Bentley because the thought of running those three out there is becoming more and more of a reality.....and Bartell and whatever 3rd or 4th tier FA we sign isn't going to help much.
whats this I read about maybe Ansah at #5.....thoughts ?
SOOOOOOOOOO risky drafting a project that high. He could be the next JPP.
My opinion?
I think it would be a good move. Explosive player. Seems like his game will translate well to the next level. Seems solid against the run....something we certainly didn't get with Avril. The Lions actually have a pretty good recent history of getting max production out of their DL.....so I would be happy with the pick.
I would project him to get right around 55 tackles and 9 sacks. Just my opinion.
Rather have Milliner though.
ya...Milliner has been my guy from jump....better then expected run at the combine though probably has him gone before 5 though
and I read he knocked his interviews outta the park in Indy.
NE wont be able to pay him. SO Houston will have to decide between winning and not making much in NE or going for the most money he can find....which wont be much cause of the cb market this year. I think he signs with us for about 5 mil per year.

Beep beep beep.....here comes the team with the brinks truck swooping in! If anyone was going to give Houston more than 5 mil it might be Miami. uh oh.....
Chris Houston - DB - Lions Free agent CB Chris Houston is on the Dolphins' "radar," according to the Miami Herald, and the Dolphins have also "made inquiries" about free agent CBs Antoine Cason and Captain Munnerlyn.
The Dolphins also "called about" Greg Toler before he signed with the Colts. Miami still has $20 million in salary cap space following Tuesday's mad rush of signings, and secondary help is next up for GM Jeff Ireland to prioritize. Related: Dolphins
