Pelicans 88 Pistons 85 Final

I see DJ had a good game last time out... 18 points and 5 or 6 assists in a win over the Lakers... Wish he was still a bench player for us... Hope Jackson works out but I have my doubts after 4 games... Pretty easy to see he does not play much defense.... Shame with his size..

Pistons are 13 games under .500 and in 12th place in the shitty eastern conference. This is still a very bad team!

then they went 11-2
since that hot streak they have gone 7-11

Guys on the Tigers board did this all last year. Bottom line, at the end of the year...they are what they are.

Of course, it's not possible to maintain that level of winning.

No one is saying they are world beaters. But they are getting better, you can see it on the court and with the coaching.

right...the weren't going to keep that terrible pace that they started with and they weren't going to keep that 11-2 pace in the middle.

They are almost 3/4 of the way through the season and have won less than 40% of their games. They have the 8th worst record in the NBA. They don't have a single super star player. They have one player on the team that has legit all star potential.

That 11-2 run gave us all false hope. This is a bad team.

You should make the playoffs in the east easy with competent management .. One day again hopefully... I like SVG but we shall see..

Jesus Monroe has missed 9 shots from layup range. Granted Anthony Davis looks like Mt. Mutombo currently.

The plus/minus numbers from this game are telling.

Jackson +13
Drummond +7
KCP +6

Tolliver -20
Butler -15
Dinwiddle -15

3 Double Doubles, but missed easy shots...a horrid bench performance outside of Meeks. ALl of this and we still have a shot

This team sucks. Games like this really expose the limitations of Greg Monroe. He was totally outmatched all night vs Asik/Davis and was terrible other than his rebounding. The Pistons would be out of their minds to sign this guy to a big contract, he doesn't and never has made the Pistons better at either end of the court. He's a skilled post player and rebounder but that's it. He's not athletic enough nor a good enough shooter to face tall frontcourts and be productive on offense.

I'm beginning to question whether the team should continue to push for wins or start packing it in. SVG won't do that, so it's mostly moot, but the incentive is showing. The Pistons are currently sitting on the 8th pick. Teams with the 6th and 7th picks right now are closer in record to the Pistons than the Pistons are to the 8th seed. It is unlikely the Pistons can "catch" Orlando for that 5th pick, but still. The draft is considered to have a very strong top 5, with considerable dropoff afterwards. Further, at least 3 of the current top 5 are ideal fits with the team (Mudiay and Russel are tremendous perimeter talents, Porzingis is the ideal Drummond partner at PF).

LOL I'm the same way. When they were like tied for 8th, I said go go for it. Now that they are falling apart again, and I can see they are near the bottom, I'm back towards losing again.

I see both sides of the coin.
