I unfortunately...err, fortunately?...was unable to watch the game but saw a brief highlight of Peppers' tackle on CJ that resulted in the first fumble...and set the stage for a BAD day.
What I noticed was the tackle appeared to be a "clothesline" tackle across the throat. I only saw it from a bad angle and figure many other angles likely showed it better. Was it a legal tackle, or an illegal one that the refs missed? I remember seeing hits like that on historical footage back when clothesline tackles were legal, but these days those hits would draw a 15 yarder and fine $$$.

Appreciate the feedback, and not complaining as much as just trying to verify it was a legit hit as opposed to the refs blowing a very important call. Nonetheless, the way the game played out I seriously doubt the Lions had a chance since they obviously did not prepare well considering the advantage of the Bye week coupled with the Bears having a short week after playing Monday. Absolutely inexcusable performance that falls on everyone's shoulders.
