Pistons 108 Raptors 104 Final

And everyone was bagging on my guy. He's looking like someone you want to sign long-term.

His ball distribution has been what has me most excited. He's a legit PG. Shooting seems to be coming around too and let's be honest, that's all the "fans" really care about.

Yeah last few games he is playing way better for sure.. I hope he works out and then they go get Green somehow. Get Jennings back.. who knows.

If we go 9-2 last eleven games could we make the playoffs? Hard to believe its still possible..LOL

He seems to be a tick better than Jennings. Nothing to write home about. The only way I would want to sign him is if they can get rid of Jennings AND it has to be at the right price. Jennings makes $8M a year. The way NBA salaries are going up...the most I would want to invest in this guy would be that $12M a year range. The problem is HE thinks he is a max contract guy when he is actually just a middle of the road PG.

I like Monroe and he grew on me as the season went on, but my lord they look a lot better with him sidelined.

I don't know if you can say it is because he is sidelined. They are 5-11 with Jackson at the helm...does that mean he is the reason for that skid?

edit: During that 10 game skid Monroe averaged 19.0 points and 10.8 rebounds while shooting over 50% from the field. Jackson 14.0 points, 6.8 assists while shooting 37% from the field.

It sure doesn't seem coincidental that after Monroe sits down, the movement between the guards seems to be so much better. There's a lot more room on that court. It's no secret SVG loves that 4-guard set.

Monroe being down has little to do with the team's little winning trend. KCP has never played this good consistently, and Jackson has had a few good games coinciding with KCP's. The more likely scenario is that this is a tiny sample and KCP/Jackson are going to fall back to earth soon. Keep in mind that SVG was actually staggering Drummond and Monroe on the court much better than any of his predecessors. KCP wasn't shooting this well whenever Monroe was off the court before.

Stan keeps speaking to how about this is a long-term player. My hunch is that they get something done with him and get rid of Jennings. And it's too bad, I really like Jennings, but I don't know if he'll fully recover after that.

As long as they don't go too high with Jackson AND they get rid of Jennings I am OK with it. There could be a PG in the draft that is better than Jackson but this team has too many holes to fill (unless they get into the top 3...then you draft DeAngello Russel and say goodbye to Jackson)

I'm not really that sold on Russell. He seems like a very nice piece to a team, but not someone you can build a franchise around.

Unless we jump into the top 3, we can't really expect to find a franchise player. Okafor could be a franchise guy. Towns maybe, but hasn't really shown it. Mudiay best case becomes a Russell Westbrook type, but that's not exactly his floor.

Russell seems like a significant upgrade over Jackson or KCP long term. Unlike both of them, he's a good outside shooter. Unlike KCP, he's a really good passer for a SG (more average for a PG). Unlike Jackson, he's really big for a PG. He might not be a franchise player, but he has the chance to be like a Manu Ginobli. Pairing someone like that with Drummond would be a great foundation.

Jackson seems to be jelling with his teammates now. KCP is shooting better, but then again he has a lot better looks as well.

Also, the chemistry between him and Drummond. Wow

Playoffs, idk.
They play Miami twice, Cleveland, Atlanta and Chicago once more. Rest of the games (6), are very winnable. If they somehow won those six and both the Miami games, going 8-3, they are in. Helps that above them in the standings are Miami (7th seed), Boston (8th), Charlotte (9th), Indiana and Brooklyn. They play all of them with the exception of Brooklyn. And they actually get Charlotte twice. So the schedule seems kind to them, but idk. If at 5 games left they are 1-2 games out, I may get aboard

This is a terrible team...I would rather have the 7th pick in the draft with the outside chance at a top 3 pick vs. making the playoffs.

Yeah me too, but if there is a few games left and we are looking at the 12th pick or something I am rooting for the playoffs. Currently we tied with Denver for the 7th spot. Sacramento is at 6, with 2 less wins than us.

Fun fact Reggie Jackson in his first full month in Detroit is leading all Eastern Conference PGs in assists, 5th in rebounds and 8th in pts.

Drummond in March (and since Jackson trade) is up in pts, rebounds, blks, assists, etc
KCP is also up in pts and PER
Monroe is even up in pts as well as other categories.

Nice to see such an amazing impact. Also has more double doubles, and triple doubles in 16 games as a Piston than Jennings did with all 41 this season.
