That year we were 59-23 losing our third year in a row in the ECF. We were 59-23 the year before and 64-18 the year before that..After the 2007-08 season as a franchise we were 2361-2357 all-time.. Not great by any means but still over .500 .. From 1983-84 till 2007-08 the team had only five losing seasons and only missed the playoffs in those seasons..
Since 2007-08 the Pistons are 211-357 and have missed the playoffs all six seasons and now have a putrid overall
record of 2572-2714 :(

That is amazing how quickly that overall record went that far south.

For sure... It suck as I really liked playoff hoops when the Piston's were good.. Just like the Wings its a shame we did not win another title or two.. Some of those teams were really good..

It would have been nice if the bad boys teams would have won a few more but they were playing against some of the all time great teams back then.

The Rip/Chauncy teams really weren't that good but the NBA was down. I think they were very lucky to even win one championship.

The Bad Boys got old quick. They won in 1988, but got screwed by a ref.

The Pistons desperately need a superstar here. Unfortunately thats just how it works in the NBA. Nobody cares about you, or gives you any chance to win unless you have a big name on your team. We haven't had one since Isiah Thomas, although I suppose you could count Grant Hill.

I also agree that as much as I loved that 04 Pistons championship team, I think they would have been beaten quite easily by the Celtics big 3 (which they were in 08), and the Miami Heat big 3 that followed. They struck at the right time.
