Pistons Vs Pacers SL : Tuesday July 12th

Not a very good line starting for Detroit. Playing pretty bad. Down 14-7.:

I mean is there anyone but Duren playing worth watching. It?s like the pistons don?t even want to win. Getting crushed so far and they look awful. Not a huge fan of the effort at all against a divisional rival.

Pistons getting killed 25-11 after one. The line up Detroit is using couldn?t beat any of the teams in summer league..

Not a player other then Duren tonight I would keep. These guys are pathetic.

End of third pistons not winning this game. 78-54 all pacers heading to fourth.

Pistons fall to 2-1 only played Duren tonight. Looked bad every quarter until 4th. Lost 101-87. Were down 30 at one point.

honestly, the goal of the summer league isn't to win, it's to see what you have in some of your young players.

I barely paid attention to that game, most of the guys out there last night are probably not making the team. I?ll assume Thursday?s game is going to feature a similar lineup.

Not a huge fan of not trying to win. That team last night had zero chance of winning. I?d rather see it against the western teams then Indiana. I get it. Get guys some minutes to see if there is any G league guys. But I just read a book about Bird and Magic. Those guys could never play not to win. I have to stop Reminiscing about past Piston hard nose teams.

I sure they were trying to win but our best players aren't playing.

Magic and Bird would never be playing in a summer league game

Who can tell. The earliest I can find the now defunct Salt Lake City Summer League which began in '84 so they missed 'them. Curry played in the summer league. Other great players did too.

Sort of unrelated but I thought this was a fun tidbit.

The Schlitz Malt Liquor Summer Basketball League at Chicago State University was already one of the premier summer basketball leagues in the country back in 1985. Then Michael Jordan showed up one night and summoned the Detroit Pistons? Isiah Thomas to come down and play with him.

That night, a young Chicago native named Tracy Dildy tried to prove himself against Thomas, and Jordan?s rival stole the show. The Detroit Pistons point guard taught Dildy a lesson about the difference between college ball and the NBA.

the best players play a game or two and don't play again.
