The Lions are getting a lot of hype right now in the new power rankings that are being released. Maybe over hyped. Where do you rank them in the league after the first 2 games, and why?

8

The competition so far isn't looking as strong as we thought it would. KC lost some key pieces and basically threw in the towel this past Sunday and the Lions struggled to put the nail in the coffin last week against TB.

I'd prefer not to rank them at all, I think power rankings are completely pointless before week 4-5, the sample size is way too small.

I'll go

1.Pats
2.Packers
3.Saints
4.Eagles (If all is healthy)
5.Ravens (Even with the loss)
6.Steelers (Even with the loss to Bmore..tough to do though)
7.Jets
8.Chargers
9.Falcons
10. Lions
11.Texans
12.Cowboys

I agree, were probably 10......

Power ranking are tough to do. I mean the Ravens lost the the Titans but blew out the Steelers...tough to drop them because I still feel like they'd be favored over any team I put behind them. Saints are tough to rank because of defense, Eagles are a new team who havent been impressive, Steelers got blown out by a division rival, Jets have a shotty qb, Chargers NEVER come through, Lions are a new team, look great but havent had a major opponent, ATL got handled by the Bears but we know they're good and they beat the Eagles (even if Vick went out in the 3rd),Texans havent played anybody but look damn good even without Foster, Cowboys oline n defense are awful but had a great chance of beating the jets in NYJ... just tough.

Putting them in tiers seems like a better strategy at this point.

Top Tier: New England, Green Bay, Philly, Baltimore, New Orleans
2nd Tier: Chicago, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, NYJ, San Diego, Houston, Detroit

Just about any team from the 2nd tier could move into the top tier. New England and Green Bay look to be remaining in the top tier all season, and probably deserve the top tier all to themselves. If you aren't on this list better luck next year.

The Lions could rank anywhere from 1-12 honestly. We have no idea, but I can say that I don't think any team left off that list is better than the Lions. We dismantled New England in the preseason, and they clearly look like the best team now. Chicago whooped Atlanta who came back to beat Philly, while Chicago lost to New Orleans, which Green Bay beat. It's all a clusterfuck.

I didn't believe in Chicago at all last year, I still think it was fluky....I was a 1st time believer after the ATL game this year, but before I could get my feet on the wagon they got handled by NO so I'm off and staying off. I vote to move them out of the 2nd tier. They suck.

Also think Dallas belongs at the back end of the 2nd tier. Not an elite team but no one wants to play them for sure. I had them at #12 in my power rankings.

I had to pick 11-15. We haven't proven shit yet. AP is the first real test. I'm picking us to lose this week. Coming off such a high and going on the road against AP is a set up for an ass whooping.

I'm with you on Chicago. My gut says they suck, but they aren't a team I'm comfortable betting against. I feel like I'm missing something when I watch them because they don't pass the eye test even though they win.

Bears are ranked higher than the lions... Let the Monday night Hype commence.

Imagine the hype if the Lions beat the Vikes and Boys.

FYI I just heard a little while ago that Austin is out till after the bye week. Felix is doubtful with as seperated shoulder this week and Romo may not play Monday night according to Jerry Jones. "It will depend on how he manages the pain."

Not that the Lions couldn't win with Dallas starters in but without them they have a great chance of being 4-0. Just gotta handle Minny 1st.

I don't disagree too much

I can understand why every team ahead of them belongs there.

The Bears have played two of the top 10 teams in the league and blew out one of them, a blow out win over Atlanta is more impressive than either of the Lions victories IMO.

The only part I'm somewhat surprised about is the gap between the Lions and Texans, both have two solid wins over what looks to be mediocre teams.

they got whooped on by NO and were lucky the score wasnt worse. Their first 2 weeks arent more impressive than Detroits. I dont see how you can put them ahead of detroit.

Since the idiots that be that make the power rankings this early, last season has to factor in to some degree. Teams that did well last year are going to be higher up in the power rankings regardless of what they did in the first two games this season. The Bears clearly had a better season than the Lions last year, the Saints (as shown in the power rankings) are clearly better than the Bears and proved it this past Sunday. As far as I'm concerned, the Bears are 1-1 against top 10 teams.

The Lions have played nobody significant so far this season, won two exhibition-type games to end the season last year, and I just can't rank them very high because of it. If the Lions had blown out the Jets or Saints or Eagles this would be a different story, but all they have to show this year are wins over a mediocre Tampa Bay team and a beat-up KC team. The Lions have done what they were supposed to do, but their schedule so far works against them IMO.

If the Lions are going to pass the Bears, they should prove it week 5. Until then, the Bears are a better.

The talking heads think the bears are better than us. If that's true, we don't make the playoffs.

That's the real issue.

We will beat the bears on MNF. Our team is built to destroy the bears. In fact, I think that it is more likely that we lose to the vikes than the bears or the cowboys.
