Preseason Game 1 - Bengals @ Lions Thread

D wills routes look better and he was getting open, but what's the point if you can't catch. Looked likehHe tried to cradled all those passes, I want to see him use his hands.

In case anyone wants some concise thoughts on the entire half:

Our passing game looks very solid even with the health issues at tackle. Adding Stafford is a huuugeee benefit, obviously.

The running game was less than steller with the first team, there weren't many openings to be found for Best and it looked like he simply ran into defenders when moving up the gut.

Special teams is going to be a huge advantage for us once again. We got good returns, forced a fumble which we recovered, had solid coverage in general, and were very coherent in getting the field goal unit on the field without a timeout and the clock ticking down at the end of the half.

Our run defense is rather porous and will hurt us if we are down by more than a score or two at any point.

The pass defense was better than adequate, with the D-line being what it was chalked up to be in the small glimpse. We forced an interception on the first defensive snap and Williams got a snap.

Our defense may be a bit over aggressive as penalties hurt us quite a bit. Suh crushed Dalton on a late hit and Delmas got into a talking game with Jerome Simpson. Williams looked like he was ready to jump off-sides at any moment.

We shouldn't put too much insight into the results overall from our starters since we were playing the Bengals who are going to be one of the worst teams in the league this year.

Honestly, all the videos on people's posts take away from the format here.

Click Profile -> Modify Profile -> Scroll down and there are some drop down boxes that say "Show Avatar" "Show Signatures" -> Select "No" for both.

You're Welcome.

You forget to mention the preseason champ Aaron Brown. Every year he's dynamite in the preseason to earn a roster spot only to suck in the reg season.

LOL...checked game stats on ESPN and the QB stats are the old rating system not their "new and improved" system. Way to go ESPN.

nice game by Staff...good to see him slinging it.

it's the Bengals though , they're fucking horrific and most def picking top 3 in 2012.

3rd pre season game is a better tell.....all in all though they looked half decent.

Yep, it's kinda like kicking kindergardeners. Not a real challenge for most teams, but his throws were still crisp and on the mark. 6/7 71 yards ain't bad, and at least shows he knows his progressions and can hit his receivers in stride.

They don't compute the QBR until 12 or so hours after the game ends. They have to evaluate the play. Not even sure they are doing it for preseason.

damn, standeford............ I remember hoping he was gonna hang around with us

Even Robinson is looking good, seem to have solid chemistry between all 4 QB's and the WR's

They're gonna need it, because our running game is looking as garbage as ever. lol Brown showing up in the preseason like he does every year

Because he always plays against third and fourth teamers.
