Purdue on the road

well that was about as bad a half of basketball as I've seen in a long time. 0 for 9 from three, a point a minute on offense, 8:1 turnover ratio, outrebounded, giving up offensive boards off missed free throws. giving up points inside and out...

Purdue isnt exactly shooting the lights out - we are losing this game on effort, plain and simple.

Yeah ugly effort. Hopefully they can wake up and make a run early this half. Kithier needs to sit tho. I dont think we've ever went on a run with him on the floor.

Purdue's plan is to pretty much throw every junk defense they can at us, but we don't make them pay. The way they're shadowing Cassius to prevent the outlet to him it seems like having another ballhandler (Rocket, Loyer) in there as another outlet might help. I don't trust our bigs to look at longer plays down the court, though.

When you have to play against a 45 year old in Boudreau it’s not even fair honestly. Old guys know every trick in the book for pickup hoops

Glad to see that college refs still don't know a block from a charge.

i forgot how bad NCAA basketball refs were - what they decide to call vs what they let go is amazing.

has there been a 30 second stretch without a whistle in the last 5 minutes?

worst ive since the wisco/dook final four game.

You?ll never convince me the NCAA didn?t have something to do with that. I recall Coach K saying ?get more calls? when asked at halftime what his team needs to do better or something didn?t play a role.

purdue has been banging from the 3 point line to the basket all day, they've been in dbl bonus with 12 min to go and just got their 7th with 3:30 left. seems reasonable.

That was ugly. We have 1 of those every season. Team didn?t play all that well vs Minnesota, it carried over to today. We were tentative and got out toughed.

purdue gave the blue print for beating this team - contain Winston, smother him and dont let him breathe. until someone else can take the ball and run the show, our fortunes will be entirely due to Winston.

Too many players who crapped the bed in that environment. We need someone to step up as a true #3 option or teams will continue to throw everything they have at Winston and Tillman. Brown and Henry sure weren't that today.

Seemed like the only brief moment that we looked somewhat together was when Loyer came in at the 2. Having 2 capable ballhandlers takes pressure off guys like Tillman from having to put the ball on the floor 25ft from the basket.

My other take is we really miss Langford's shooting and Ward's post play. the way they were locking down the perimeter it would be nice to have another guy who can handle the ball and get their own shot and/or someone who can get something going in the post.

Its a good team thats fun to watch when things are going well but its not a complete team. at least not yet.

Tough road venue after Purdue lost a heartbreaker on the road in Ann Arbor. A game they led a lot and had 2 chances to win with the last shot I think. Regulation and first ot. I feel bad for the next MSU opponent. They may blast them if the game is at home.

Home vs Wisconsin. Wisconsin is playing well lately but I question how good they really are. It seems like they?re back to their BS Bennettball garbage of winning games 50-45.
