Tigers place Ryan Raburn on DL, recall Danny Worth.
The season-long difficulties continue for the Tigers’ Ryan Raburn.
Raburn suffered a right thumb sprain and the Tigers placed him on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, retroactive to Aug. 1.
Manager Jim Leyland said Raburn aggravated the thumb in the series at Cleveland July 24-26 and figured Raburn would be able to work through it.
“We thought it was going to be fine but it’s not,” Leyland said Sunday morning.
The Tigers recalled infielder Danny Worth from Triple A Toledo and he will play second base and bat ninth in Sunday’s revamped lineup.
Raburn, 31, is batting .172 (34-for-198) this season with just one home run. Worth was batting .277 (38-for-137) with five home runs in 36 games for the Mud Hens.

Somehow I thought we released him. Wishful thinking I guess.

I predict Raburn rakes in the minors and bats .370 for us for the rest of the season. One corner outfielder problem solved.

lol @ shinebox needing to go 75-104 the rest of the season to hit over .200.

It is hard to believe that the Tigers started the year with two of the worst players in MLB on their roster....Inge and Raburn. Their two starting corner OF have to have been the least productive starters at those spots (DY lost his job). Four guys that are flat out terrible and they are still in the hunt for the AL central.

JV, Miggy, Prince, and Ajax carrying this team...
