Pretty big deal for Tiger fans. Rios has been really REALLY good vs Detroit this season. Things get a little easier in the remaining series.

that's not how I look at it. I look at it as one of the Tigers main competitors for the AL championship just got stronger. The White Sox are no match for the Tigers with or without Alex Rios!

Rios 2010-2012 Away

.260 BAVG .301 OBP .411 SLG .712 OPS

Light hitting corner OFer with average RF defense making $13 Mil player a year steal for the Rangers? Yeah right.

Well...his becoming a rump-ranger does mean that Alex will be that much closer to the Rio(s) Grande, but no telling if that means he will hit or especially field any better...:hehe:

Maybe Valverde should be signed as well, b/c then Texas would have Alex Rios and Papa Grande...>:D

I'm surprised they waited this long to dump Rios. This is basically the Sox fire-sale.

They let Beuhrle, AJ, Peavy, Rios, Crain, Thornton, Quentin, all go. they are fully in rebuilding mode.
