Red Wings 2 Rangers 1 Final

I haven't watch much of the Wings in some time but they always seemed like a fast team but they look slow. Or maybe the Rangers are just fast.

The Wings shot differential continues to be disastrous. I'm probably going to harp on this a lot, but oh well. The Wings simply do not generate many shots since Babcock left, and the defense/forecheck clearly doesn't close down open shooting lanes. With more than half of the game already played, the Wings are being doubled up in shots. This will not bode well for the rest of the season.

First Wings game in some time for me. So far it's been awesome.

Big concern . Out shot 33-18.

It's great to see them get out with a win. That they did so despite a lack of ability to stop shots is a testament to how great Howard was last night.

Note: the Wings are dead last (by a mile) in shot differential (-10.5).

When the goalie is consistently your best player on the ice, that is a concern.

But that 3rd period they played well.. baby steps.

Yes for sure. Best third period in a long time. Held them to 6 shots on goal and held on. I hated some of the clearing attempts late but under that pressure it must be hard ..
