Had the refs seen it hit the net, there's no need for a review.

The reason it can't be reviewed is that there are only four instances where a goal is reviewed.

1. Did the puck cross the line
2. Was it hit with a high stick
3. Was it kicked in
4. Was the net off its moorings

Since none of those were in dispute, it can't be reviewed. I do expect them to change the rule after this.

Just like the Lions and the Thanksgiving day play. Immediately had that rule changed just like this one will be.
