So...who will it be?

I'm not a fan of Herman Cain. Not because of this scandal, but his policies and knowledge of the world just seem pathetic. I'm a democrat, but I do know who I wouldn't want running the country. My vote is for Romney...if I wasn't voting Obama.

I'll go on record now and say Obama gets a 2nd term....the Independents will come back to him when faced with the hard choice of Mittens or Obama.

my take: barring some insane scandal that breaks, Obama has this all but locked up. All the Washington insiders know it, and that's why no serious opposition candidate is being fielded.

Obama has locked up the support of the Pentagon, Wall Street, and enough of the business establishment to guarantee a second term.

Romney is the placeholder in this election; he wins the nomination by default, since he's not borderline insane, has the most money & connections, and can stand at a podium and speak English clearly.

I think of the rest of the field, only Bachmann, Paul, Santorum, and Perry are serious candidates.

Cain, Gingrich, and Trump (while he was around) only entered as a publicity stunt.

and of the serious candidates, Bachmann is nuts, Santorum is a whiny wimp, and Perry is pretty much being exposed as the completely talentless sell-out that he is.

Ron Paul may be the people's choice but he is constantly marginalized because he actually threatens the establishment with his arguments against foreign interventions, invasions, and bloated defense spending.

I watched the "Tea Party" debate on CNN.

The ONLY candidate to say something that wasn't an empty "talking point" was Paul, when he spoke about how our invasions and atrocities committed by our troops directly exacerbated the threat of terrorism, and we would be better off and more secure if we just pulled out of the middle east...

The rest of the candidates fidgeted nervously, and Wolf Blitzer was quick to cut him off and lob some BS softball about healthcare to Michelle Bachmann, or maybe Santorum...

it's funny when cracks appear in the facade, and you can see who's back there...

the republican nominees this year are so weird. Bachmann has a gay husband that hates gays. Santorum is a frothy mixture and is the live version of Goofy from Disney. Cain is...well, a singing, sexual harassing, beat around the bush, doesn't know shit about the world, pizza and pillsbury doughboy, drop the taxes on the rich and tax the rest of the country weird mother fucker. Gingrich is weird and can't keep a wife unless he has a tab with tiffany's. Perry is george W (the second coming) but weirder (anyone see his speech in NH?).

Huntsman seems like a good guy and honestly, I might vote for him, but conservatives hate him and he doesn't have a chance.

Huntsman... yeah. his positions read like what you would expect a true "small government" conservative to believe in if they were consistent in their beliefs.

Perry was actually first elected in Texas as a democrat to the state legislature. Go figure, right? Then quickly read the changing mood of the politics of the time, and "switched." From his record in politics, it's pretty clear he is more shamefully "for sale" than the avg. politician.

When professional sleazebags like Karl Rove won't support you... you are pretty much off the charts.

Wheres the "who the fuck cares" option? Now, i havent neccesarily agreed with alot of the things Obama has done but he has put together quite a long laundry list of change all while battling the obstuctionists in the congress who flip flop every 5 minutes to say whatever the opposite obama does and have no real ideas of their own. The republican party is an effing joke at the moment....its going to be impossible for any one of them to run and enter a serious debate against obama when each one of them has flip flopped or said something stupid time and time again. For anyone who watches bill maher its been a running joke who the flavor of the month will be for the republican party. It should be an embarrassment to the entire country the way theyve conducted themselves.

Paul is the only one that stands a chance and actually says half way intelligent things that are truthful and factual. Problem with that is you cant win over the teabaggers and republicans alike unless you are a) a complete nutjob b) a drone that will take orders and not deviate from party thought and never ever speak whats on your mind or interject personal thought c) dont ever ever be truthful or factual d) its preferred youre both a, b and c

If the republicans have to resort to putting a guy up for the presidency that made millions by putting people out of jobs....well that pretty much tells me all i need to know about the republican party.

obama at least has the economy turned around in the right direction. We're back to growing jobs again and unemployment has plateaued and (from what i've read) is expected to start turning around because of the job growth.

if the republicans weren't so god damn stupid and passed obama's job bill, it'd give the jobs an even bigger kick in the ass. get rid of NAFTA (waiting for obama to act on this) and we'd probably be back to what we were about ten years ago.
