Link. No more original content after this year... sad.

I was a pretty avid reader in my early teenage years.

It's been years and years but it was a great magazine for awhile. Then it fizzled.

I bought an issue for the first time in 20 years after Trump got elected. it was still pretty funny, still the same old humor, but I was surprised it was also still all the same guys doing it, most of whom are really really old now, and retiring.

seems like they never brought in new blood. maybe that's kinda typical for comedy shows and magazines... they really depend on the chemistry between staffers, and can't just plug younger guys in.

The best comedy when talking politically is when they make fun of both sides. Not just one. The good old days.

Magazines are pretty much a 20th century product...during the 90s I was subscribed to ~9 at peak, then a couple went belly-up, like this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HuH_(magazine) (had every issue) and by '04, I no longer maintained any subscriptions, including newspapers or a landline telephone.

I've never even heard of that one, but Wikipedia says it was popular.

huH, CMJ, and Alternative Press each included a sampler CD with every issue...it was how I got turned onto new mostly alt and industrial music that I liked back then, and before the artists and/or songs went mainstream.

All of this sounds awesome. What happened to it? Internet?

Broadband internet, Napster, and commercial music's changed focus on boy bands, hip-hop, divas, and rap all played a part in doing them in....plus the Millennial gen's coming of age.
