Ronnell Lewis

We already have one of those and he costs 10.6 mil. I understood the pick if we thought he could move to OLB....now i dont get it. a 230 lb situational de in rd 3...nice.

I meant from the beginning he will be a pass rush specialist until he develops and finds his role either as a DE or OLB.

special teams player/situational pass rusher

Is this supposed to be a bad thing? Because our special teams play was atrocious and we need help getting after the QB. Also I think he has a ton of upside. Im not saying he will be a superstar but this guy lives and breathes football so if nothing else he will contribute.

did i say it was a bad thing?

he is what he is. A 4th round pick. Should be good on ST and might get a few snaps on Defense every game.

I prefer Travis Lewis as a LB and I think he has the potential to start for us, but am I expecting it? Probably not. He'll probably be cut just because he's a 7th round pick and all my excitement for him will be gone.

I didnt disagree with you. I just have seen a lot of people bad mouthing some of these picks and I think its really premature. Not saying you are.

Travis Lewis was a good college player. He has some room for improvement but I think they hold on to him. Ronnell will take a dline spot. Travis will either be PS or whitehead will be.

We can use all the ST studs we can get. I'd love more John Wendling/Bobby Carpenter/Zack Follett types on this team because of how bad the starting field position has been for us recently. This team would look a hell of a lot better if we had decent kick coverage.

hope you're right. I've been high on Travis Lewis for a couple years now. The guy has some good coverage skills and tackles better than he's given credit for. If nothing else, it'd be nice to sub him out for Levy on 3rd down passing situations.

I really liked Hogues pass coverage ability last year and thought he should have had more chances since Levy struggled at times against teams who three to the RBs. I dont think they sign durant long term after this season. Levy is an optional signing also. They will hold on to some of these guys and the way they have gone in the draft they get guys worth a roster spot for special teams. So they will be kept around.
